Food Industry Case Study
01

The Client

John and Heather Bailey, vets for over 40 years, decided to give up their life and live their dream as farmers and cheese makers.

Putting everything they had into making sheep cheese, the couple purchased a 240-acre sheep farm in rural Derbyshire where they could produce a niche product on an industrial scale.

Having never farmed in their lives, the couple and their grown-up children aimed to sell 20 tonnes of sheep cheese in the first year in their brand-new, state-of-the-art dairy and production facilities.

The Challenge

John and Heather had built a new dairy and production facility to produce and mature their cheese. The creamery needed to be temperature controlled in order to mature the cheese.

03

Our Solution

As specialists in cold room installation and design, we supplied and installed insulated wall panels for the creamery that perfectly control the conditions needed for the cheese to mature. We were delighted to see our team hard at work on Ben Fogle’s New Life in the Country.

The Challenge

JBJ were tasked with installing a 2000-pallet chiller, predominantly to store vaccines in preparation for Brexit. The timescale was challenging and the build had to be delivered in two phases while stock arrived.

  • Phase one completed early to receive pre-ordered product
  • Temporary partitions and screens to segregate completed areas
  • Safe ongoing works without disrupting live operations
03

Our Approach

JBJ Insulations were one of many contractors on the project. It was a new relationship, so we focused on clear communication, precise scheduling and meticulous hygiene and safety to build confidence and deliver beyond expectations. We have since been involved in many further projects with this client.
